Shundra aka Hope WilliamsActor/Writer/Director/Producer Shundra aka Hope Williams is a Houston based actor, writer and director. She may be remembered for her portrayal of Rita in Shakin? The Mess Outta? Misery at The Miller Outdoor Theater in Texas. Her theater credits include the African-American classics, ?Raisin In The Sun? and ?The Amen Corner?. Hope has been very active in the artistic community since her graduation from Evan Edward Worthing in 1998. Her resume boasts a number of film and theater credits including extensive experience and training in stage acting, costume design, make-up design, producing, directing and writing. Ms. Williams is the Founder and Chief Executive Operator of Acts of Faith Entertainment, an entertainment company dedicated to the education and inspiration of underprivileged communities. In February of 2000, Hope spearheaded the Theater Outreach Project by dispatching a team of actors, singers, dancers, poets and musicians to perform at hospitals and other community events. The purpose was to bring theater to the doorstep of discouraged bed ridden patients and add joy to their lives. The project was successful and resulted in positive press and community support for Acts of Faith Entertainment. In October of 2002, Ms. Williams collaborated with local production companies and co-founded ?Hands On?, Houston?s ultimate on-camera acting workshop. This workshop gave inexperienced actors a chance to discover on-camera acting and an opportunity to utilize what they learned on the set. The workshop opened doors for many aspiring actors and directors and provided the funding for two short films. In July of 2003, Hope created phenomenon films in an attempt to create an outlet for African American artists to make films from the soul that speak to the soul. ?Apparition?, her directorial debut made it's USA premiere at the Galveston Island International Film Festival. In September of 2003 Hope created the literacy project entitled, From the Page to the Stage. Sh teamed up with J Caifornia Cooper and The Shrine of the Black Madonna to turn a collection of short stories into a theatrical presentation.
