Before working in photography, Steven Emberton worked in the arts, Painting with varioius solo exhibitions and in music. As a result, he developed a sophisticated sensitivity to aesthetics, style and environment. Steven Emberton credits his diverse experiences in life as having an extremely influential impact on his work. His associations with Bulgarian artists and subsequent visits to Eastern Europe during the transition from communism to democracy provided him with a deeper perception into the human spirit. He utilizes this heightened intuition to enhance his portrayal of both the light and the darker side of life. It is the whole essence of each individual that Emberton strives to capture through his lens. Steven Emberton began his involvement with photography 25 years ago, as a child, shooting family portraits and friends, later fashion and musicians, the culmination of Emberton?s personal and professional history enables him to see, and capture the essence radiating from within each subject.
